Mostly packs, we may do special promotions for new solo cards. But mostly solo cards you'll buy on the marketplace, and random packs from us (or you can just earn the same random packs by playing)

1. Yes it’s still in beta but most features are avaibility 2. for sdk you need a set of tokens to run a network and you secure your validitators however you want. Maybe your thinking of zombie chain 3. You lock tokens for a year to run a chain with the sdk

The higher cards (custom made cards ) I understand. Those will be one copy only. But to leave early investors out for New New investors is a little overboard if so. I can’t take my now devalued loom token and sell it for fiat to obtain the cards. I bought a good amount and locked it away as I believe the project will be successful long term. But to miss the elemental cards and what not would suck

Never mind clearly this is going to go circles as I have already received my answer. Either fiat at a loss and transfer to currency to donate to Kickstarter to receive the cards (main reason anyone is donating right now) or simply hold my even earlier backed token miss the exclusive cards (that anyone with a sense of understanding knows will be worth more in value than they donate) and hope that I can stake my token for “other” cards that aren’t as exclusive. Does that sound about right?

Seems like you have three easy options. 1) pay with Fiat which you should have or be able to get if you have a real source of income. 2) wait for crypto options as they've been saying or sell some crypto now (yes I understand that may be at less than you paid for it). Or 3) buy in the market place at a slight premium over the Kickstarter price which might be less of a premium than than the loss from selling crypto. Not even factoring actual market forces or PV into this.

What project do you have the impression you have backed via loom tokens? Loom is privately funded and Loom tokens are utility tokens to use their products.

Purchasing the tokens and holding them is backing the project you moron. Money out money in to them. If I didn’t buy the token guess what, don’t back the project. Not everyone who trades crypto does so for the intention of day trading. My money was used to purchase a token that in turn puts revenue into the teams pocket. If no one buys the token guess what, no more loom or project. Anyone who purchased tokens and still holds them is actively supporting the company. No different than owning stocks for a company. You are still considered helping that company. Regardless, a simple token stake (aka where you can’t spend the tokens you donate) would be a great solution for this. I take my tokens I purchased and stake them for a year and in turn receive the same cards of the value in which I stake. It would solve all problems

Another question is how will they generate random cards from packs. If the random cards are generated one Loom chain, then the Loom chain would implicitly have the ability to mint erc721 cards. Which makes it hard to prove rarity of cards in the long term.

I don't think the main chain has that capacity. It can only handle like 6 transactions per second or something right? Any mid sized app needs more capacity than that.

See yes the transaction capacity is indeed less on mainchain. But when it comes to games and social apps, then users want instant actions. They don't want to wait 30 secs to move their player 1 step ahead or wait 30 secs to get 1 message. so that's why these kinds of dapps really need Dapps. For financial apps, a user can wait 30 secs as he/she might not have to make many transactions one after the another

having more cpu surely doesn't increase the speed of network because transactions per second are usually capped to a number. As far as I know the more people join as miners, the slower the network gets. Although I am not sure about it

Adding more CPU doesn't really make it faster but makes it slower. That makes sense as Ethereum talks about each blockchain needs to approved by all the nodes on the network and only than, it's added to the honest chain. Now I'm getting curious on how to actually speed up the transaction status for it to become applicable to different industries.

Also, the scalability thing is also interesting. My thinking was the ethereum network has logarithmic growth which would allow it to have huge number of transactions yet the size will remain small. This doesn't seem to be the case as, according to the comparsion they did with VISA, 8TB per year. Not sure if it's huge but still massive if Ethereum wants to take on them. I'm sure there is a huge hole in my understanding which is not giving me the complete picture. Sharding and sidechain is next :)

And with the SDK, each dApp you create, creates a new chain specifically for that dApp? I assume that's what the https://loomx.io/developers/docs/en/prereqs-ubuntu.html are for. This is to explain how to create your own dApp chain to run your dApp? So we have to have this running constantly? Is there anyway that users can contribute to your chain by hosting it on their computer too?

So I have a question about the mapping zombieToOwner. Since the _tokenId's of the zombies is basically just their position number in the zombies array which is created in a predictable way, could a user claim ownership of future zombies in advance of their creation? Let's say there are only 50 zombies at the moment, could I claim ownership of the 51:th zombie in advance of its creation?

Whats difference if I create zombie using objective C and then just use solidity to secure hashed information on Blockchain - what do you mean “run on eth”? Ethereum is just used to secure tokens, right?

No. Ethereum is “a world computer.” Nodes run the EVM (Ethereum virtual machine) which allows them to do computation. Smart contracts and solidity can include any kind of function you would have in another programming language. By “running on ethereum” the computation is done by all the nodes running the EVM.

Yes to make sure it’s not fake token. So like if you hashed zombie dna but also added secret gene dna then someone couldn’t create fake zombie because they wouldn’t know the dynamics of the secret gene to add it their self.

It means the contract hasn't been loaded, either your genesis file is incorrect, or you started loom from a directory that doesn't have a contracts subdir with the relevant contract in it. Please use the SDK room @loomnetworsdk
