Once people buy tokens, sometimes they hold them, sometimes they resell them on exchanges. So we don't know how many are "circulating" any more than CMC does. The company holds roughly 35% of the supply as a reserve fund, and those are not entering circulation any time in the near future.

That's a great article which gives a vision of the future. But my question is basically - when the Unity sdk is released does that mean that existing game devs can create full blown dapps on Loom? Does the sdk give them that power? Unity is used by devs to code and deploy games on multiple (centralised) platforms like PlayStation. Will the Sdk allow devs to code and deploy games on a loom side chain as a Dapp?

As far as I know, as an observer, the Unity SDK will help connect the front-end (the unity game) with the back-end (Loom's dAppchain). So you'll need to code the backend with your language of choice on top of building your game ;)

Thanks - that's what I thought. So the sdk will provide a bridge between old (existing unity devs and games) and new (dapp devs and games). This could result in some interesting interactions over the coming months / yrs!! But the sdk about to be released does not allow unity devs to deploy their unity game as a loom Dapp - yet. This was my real question. Thanks!

At a high level, random number generation is hard because all smart contracts need to be deterministic. They need to execute with the same results on every node in the network. So a normal rand() function won't work.

Yeah I don't think it's an issue with the law, I think it's an issue with the policies of the card processor. They don't want to deal with crypto because of the high risk of fraud and chargebacks.

Yeah makes sense. The risk would be a criminal can steal a credit card, make multiple purchases for tokens, then wash those tokens on exchanges. When the real credit card owner gets their bill, they'd report the transactions as fraudulent, and the credit card company would reverse the transactions, so you'd have sold a bunch of tokens but not have the revenue. If the tokens aren't transferable or tradable on that exchange you won't have that problem though.

In ecomm, really there's nothing you can do about chargebacks. Require as much card info as possible so it's harder for fraudsters, and don't allow massive purchases so there's less incentive to use stolen credit cards with you vs another option

Developing locally with Ganache is a better option (most of the time) because you can easily run unit tests from a clean state. It's also nice to not bloat the testnet everytime you make a code change. Ganache isn't a perfect implementation, and there are some contracts calls that fail with Ganache but work fine on a real Ethereum deployment.

IWhen I try to login, I also get the "Unable to configure verification page." error message. I would prefer that I do not have to enable 3rd party cookies, and likely have to disable ghostery and ublock just to run the cryptozombies! I understand that you may want to track usage (GA pageviews and clicks), but why does it have to be plastered with privicy invading marketing tags? Other websites work at least with spying tags being disabled.

Thanks! remember it's custodial funds, so they'd have to take control of the funds in order to sell. then that means they need to go thru the application in order to register their user wallet with us, andthen be confident enough in their abilitiies to use metamask to call the withdraw function

Humor me, whats the problem with the name Zombiechain

I used to like groovy programming language a lot. One reason it did not catch up was it's bad choice of name. People automatically thought it was a 'joke language' compared to scala. Groovy had a different niche and some truly powerful features, but name worked against it. From that viewpoint, I would suggest giving it a serious sounding name.

Cost gas or not determined by whether it's run by every node in the network or only your node. If only run by your node, no gas cost. In this case, pure or view function called externally means only the node you connected need run the code. If called internally, it depended on the caller, if the caller modified chain state, it need every node to run, then cost gas.

Hey, so the Loom SDK is in closed beta, but on the developer page it looks like all the tools are public. Does this mean I could work on a DApp locally and just can't release until after the Beta?

It’s in private beta our APIs and tooling are constantly changing from the feedback we get from our beta users. It isn’t recommended to release anything until the product stabilizes. When the software is ready for public release, we’ll open it to everyone provided that they hold the required amount of LOOM and agree to our Terms and Conditions.

Hey guys and girls! I want to start making a blockchain games and currently i am trying to choose a platform. So in terms of integrating with loom and general awesomeness, Can anybody help me choose between; Cocos and Unity. I want to make a 2D top down game. My programming skills are primarily C# and Javascript. Any comments/opinions very welcome!

I assume it's by centralizing block creation while maintaining security backed onto the main chain but I think the consensus algorithm is modular and you could make it whatever you choose on implementing the side chain?
