I've managed to connect Mist with Ganache and now, trying to deploy a smart contract. But before I can do that, I'm getting this error throwing out when Itry to enter the password method personal_sign transaction not supported

try to restart ganache with a different networkId, connect mist to some other network, and back to your local ganache

it's a keep alive ping, unity doesn't close sockets when u stop player

There are two main ways to transfer from dAppchain to main net. Either your customers trust you to be custodian or they want to use plasma. If they trust you: they send the tokens to a main net contact you control and you use the transfer gateway on Loom sdk to credit them that amount on the side chain. When they are done, you sign their transaction for them to submit to main chain to withdraw tokens

If they don't trust you, you can provide plasma integration to allow them to sign every interaction with their tokens so they can withdraw at any time without your approval.

I mean, say you were writing a chess game and storing the win/loss records on main net. You could create some smart contract that validated that the move order submitted by side chain is a valid game, or you could just validate the side chains signature and mark the win loss

short answer: I'm interested in a many-chain world and it sounds like you have built some interesting stuff. longer answer: Burrow comes from a codebase that was a common ancestor of the tendermint (before geth was a thing). We are building a legal agreements network (not sure if I can link in here) that is based on a variety of things including Burrow for consensus/execution. Burrow has some particular features we need, but if others are building features we need I'd rather contribute my development effort to them than write my own.

it's based on this idea of virtualised voting which is somewhat novel - each node sends a copy of its view of the 'gossip graph'. the algorithm is based on finding certain vertices in this graph of when each node got gossip messages (essentially a subjective vector clock for each node). These vertices have certain connetivity properties (they are called famous witnesses). The argument (which looks okay to me, but I am also wary of) is that provided you can find these you can establish a total order, and once you have this you can simulate a PBFT style voting without sending all the messages.

Okay, I retrieved a random block and the gas limt is has is `134217728` But I doubt sending huge "Contract gas price" and "Managed Transacation price" does anything. By default, the Java code has setting of `22_000_000L` as the limt

I'm not sure if that's the reason here, but i had this problem. Contract would deploy in Remix, but fail in Truffle. So i had enable optimization in Truffle as well to make it work.

I just check remix. The optimization option is off. The amount of gas it took to do it 1649301. It's in the transaction gas.

I wrote a really simple contract and it work on deployment. This means the contract I wrote earlier is using a lot more gas on my geth than it's doing on remix.

I fixed it. I had to 'optimize' the code myself. I have a feeling my keccak265()) and now it's working. I like the fact ethereum programming requires you to 'optmize' the code. Makes me feel smart lol

Also, I've been thinking about blockchain and it real world uses. I just don't get it how can this be useful in real life even though I've watched lectures and articles on it's practical uses. Only recently, I realized there is no 'kill switch' to the blockchain. Once this thing goes live, it's really is alive until everyone agrees to kill it and remove it from there drive. But other than this, I still can't see it being used in real life. It's too slow and there is something missing about it.

The main reason i think is that "everything" can verified, so things can't be rigged. Other important reason to me, as someone who likes games, is how easy you can transfer assets/tokens from one game to another. So the chain connects all games to one network. Even though it's slow now, i think thigns like Loom will attract mainstream to the blockchain

Turns out, my custom geth with only one modified function completely dies and becomes unresponsive if I don't any transacation on it. Basically, if it idles for too long, it just dies. I have to reboot it for it to become functional. I have no idea why is this happening.

I don't get this!! My super simple contract is parameters are being registered without a problem on a new contract instance using Java. But when I do it on a 'complex' contract with the constructor parameters, the entire bloody deployment is ignoring those parameters! I checked the input data on geth itself, the parameters ARE in there, but it not being registered on the contract.........

All the transactions happening on the alpha version are being stored on the Loom off chain network? Then written on chain? Because if it is....the off chain transaction throughput is blazing fast!
