Question: so Loom will be great for games backed by Ethereum security. Specifically talking about NFT -type games, how will the interoperability work? e.g I'm playing a game on Loom and I want to use my NFT pet outside of Ethereum to EOS/Other Blockchain. Will that be possible? I know guys like rarebits are creating an eBay for NFTs but they are on Ethereum. I'm also aware that Wax is trying to solve that problem. Have you given this much thought as Loom?

What makes loom better than trinity?

Totally different. Trinity is a state channel solution on Neo for scaling payments. Loom is a full fledged sidechain platform for buildung dapp specific chains to keep dapps fast and less expensive for trnasactions. In other words Loom is for developing dapps not for simple payments.

You are wrong. Trinity is universal scaling solution for all blockchains, they have working nep5-erc20 converter, and they will focus on scaling dapps on ethereum blockchain, they are also partnering with decentraland and ethermon and world of blockchain games

It means the contract hasn't been loaded, either your genesis file is incorrect, or you started loom from a directory that doesn't have a contracts subdir with the relevant contract in it. Please use the SDK room @loomsdk - Vadim

Well, if the integration is only used for Aesthetics, then it shouldn't really matter if there are problems with CryptoKitties anyways. That would just be their problem, and the community could simply choose to stop using the feature to customize their experience. Their is press and more users to be gained on the upside, and nothing really to loose on the downside.

Somebody with a popular blog who is reading this should just hint that Battleground will let people use a CryptoKitty as their account profile photo. Then LOOM could just tell people the truth, that it's an unfounded rumor, and then use some digital marketing research to see if they really should make the investment of adding this feature. I bet even hinting at this would add $100k to the battleground Kickstarter. A lot of early adopters who wasted way too much money on CryptoKitties during their early boom cycle are desperate for a way to make their investments useful or more valuable!

I mean, do we get to truly own the cards in Battleground? If other developers wanted to use a card to represent equipment or characters in their new game, why stop them? A bad integration would just be ignored by the community due to its lack of usefulness, but the overall value of the cards would skyrocket! You could maybe have your assets destroyed in another game, but they can't be changed and they would only be able to be earned or created out of Battleground.

With Cryptokitties, there exist 3rd party games that build on top of CK, such as kittyhats, where you can buy hats for your cat. We're all about being open as much as possible and we will definitely encourage this type of community work.

New developers could get access to the community of Battleground card asset owners by giving the cards some foundational utility in their game, and that could help them get some really traction for their project. All of their new users would need to buy Battleground cards. Before you know it, this game becomes the backbone of a small gaming economy and a strong community of supporters gather around it to make the assets way more valuable then the assets of similar projects.

Could be worth exploring but supply chain use case is more limited by the problems with tying real world items/actions to blockchain transactions. It's hard to verify that everyone is scanning the items at every stage and that the scans are valid and such

How can others host your dappchain too?

You don't run them locally. You spawn many nodes and create a network of DPOS consensus. Of course this is all configurable. If you don't want to spawn your own Network wait for Zombiechain next month. Zombiechain is a shared dpos Network run by Loom where you can deplot dapps developed with loom.

All of the first wave of cards will be available from day one, but some cards are still in embryo status, so it might take them a few more weeks to mature into adult zombies.

Solidity isnt a language i would ever start developing in if it was my first exposure to programming. Play around with Javascript to begin, their are lots of great web resource. For web dev Java is mostly what you need. Python is great as you can produce stuff really fast but it does allow you to pickup bad habits. Java is used everywhere but less visible, its big for backend stuff in banks and companies.

Jump in with Solidity and see how it goes. If it comes easily you've saved time. The hardest part is the number of steps between writing the code and seeing the result. (Installing and running ganash, knowing remix, connecting to local node, submitting contract transaction, etc) and the lack of good error messages. Ethfiddle and cryptozombies definitely help in those areas, but still, much better to start with a language that's easier to get up and running quickly
