Well you sent an email on saturday to update but it wasnt there. And then you sent an email today to update. I tried running the app and thought it would prompt me to update but it only crashed saying its not up to date. So i tried testflight but no new version was there. And i logged in to my loom.games acc and saw my keys and everything but when tried to download pressing the ios button it asks me to log in with google and complete the questionnaire..

The benefit for gamer is that assets (tokens/items) can be exchanged to real money easly i think. Plus you can easily port and adapt assets from one game into another, so changes in one game would be reflected into another etc, endless possibilities :P

could that possibly discourage developers ? ie loosing the eyes of the gamer

What I meant is the similarities of the project to the other one. I'm not saying the exchange they are in. And I also check the marketcap for the both of them just know. and I saw that EDN lacks of exchange but the price are kinda pumping and the loom has a lot of exchange but the price is dropping.

They're held in the plasma contract on Ethereum and their ownership changes as transactions are signed on the side chain. Any owner of a transaction that shows ownership of that token can claim withdrawal of the token from plasma contract, then if no one produces a more recent transaction of that token, the claimer withdraws the token

For transparency, immutability and trust from my users. I suppose it’s going to be smart contract in my sidechain. I see it this way: - User posts picture - Smart contract in sidechain register it - I reject it or accept it once - While creating new picutres and changing it’s statuses sidechain produces blocks with hashes and writes them on mainnet - User can always track the history of all posted pictures and make sure I haven’t changed anything later by veryfing sidechain blocks against info in mainnet

Yep you can totally do this. It's a lot more work to create, scale, and maintain your own chain with its own validators though, which is why we think for most developers it will make more sense to use a shared chain like PlasmaChain or GameChain. But the SDK already works for building your own chains, it's what our own chains are all built on. And in the future we'll add functionality to use PlasmaChain as a relay between multiple chains and Ethereum mainnet, "tier 3" chains like you said. That's our vision of scaling.

We have built quite a few “centralised” games on mobile and desktop, we are looking for solution to build our own “chain” to issue our own erc20 tokens and make game assets non-fungible. I am interred in plasmaChain as it supports erc20 and 721. But I don’t think we will migrate the entire game logics to plasmaChain as they are very complicated. We want to use plasmaChain and loom to build own “chain” component and own version iOS/Android sdk so in the future any of our games can be tokenised, hope it makes sense:)

Developers can issue their own tokens on ethereum / PlasmaChain, there's no need to build their own sidechain to do that. Benefits of building their own chain are they can choose the consensus model, how many validators there are and how they're chosen, and if / how those validators are rewarded. Basically they have full control over the chain and it's fully centralized until they choose to open it up, so they can set all the rules. This may make sense for very very large applications that need their own dedicated DAppChain. Advantages to using the shared chain are you just focus on building your app and don't worry about infrastructure, it's built up of a decentralized set of validators so you don't have to secure your own chain against attacks, you get to take advantage of the existing user base and services on the chain like the marketplace, users are more likely to trust your dapp (they don't need to verify and trust your new chain), etc.

Then, what's the value of NFT token with a close sourced game? You still need to trust the game company not shut down your game. If open sourced, the community can fork it whenever needed(like cryptokities is open sourced now), in this way you game asset can truly be your own . I'm just confused.

Yes, it could work in some cases (though i doubt it, 'cause most game's environments are unique). But we talked about if the communities have the right to keep or fork the game if needed no matter what the game owners would do. In that way, you have real control of our digital asset NFTs. Otherwise, when the game shut down, you need to wait for somebody else create a new game which use your NFT protocol from another game?

My point is really; why wait? Take CryptoKitties for example. You have this massively popular erc721 token that already has a huge community behind it. Instead of trying to create the next CryptoKitty, why not create more places for people to use the ones they already have? The creators own the artwork, but that's nothing more than the fashion in which one online portal chooses to render the attributes of the token. You could, theoretically, create an online world where those attributes are rendered in 3D and can be interacted with. You could sell companion assets in the form of more NFTs as accessories, or alternate "worlds." Just a thought.

I totally got your point, yes, I can create a new better crypto cat game using the same ERC721 token. you have the right to leave, but what if some users want to stay in the old world but the developers shut down or change it in a way you do not like? let's say what if the communities want to keep the original cryptokitties game or just fork it with different updates. Besides, good games are more complicated than just some "rendering", you think without the open sourced bitcoin codes, the BCH can easily be created? you can easily create a new WOW? Closed source codes do not belong to blockchain world.

Hey guys I got a question. What is the limitation of smart contracts being run on Loom DAPPChain? I understand that it is completely capable of running NFTs like CryptoKitties and Zombie Battleground, but can it run a game like CivD (https://www.civd.app/) From what I understand, it seems like Loom is a Plasma Cash variant, which I believe is a solution only for NFTs, is that correct?
